I; S. Tyrone Ingram am a man of many talents and skills and have many years (15) of activity in the bay area communities particularly in the east bay where, I (and a small staff) produce and direct an annual cultural music and arts festival every summer ( mid-August) at historic People's Park in Berkeley California and held on University of California's grounds. In the past and as always, the festival is a benefit for battered women and displaced & homeless families as well as providing resources and information to individuals and groups in need IE;
food, clothing, shelter, counseling, medical and drug rehabilitation.

NOTE: Formerly an alternate in the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles and a former member of the USA/ABF national boxing team (1984-86), S. Tyrone Ingram of Oakland, California earned a # 6 U.S. national ranking at Lt. Heavyweight and was ranked among the top 100 in the world by The International Olympic Boxing Committee, a 3-time California state champion and 2-time western U.S. champion, Ingram proudly represented The United States abroad in competition against The Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, Ireland and Thailand winning 6 Golden Gloves titles and a Lt. Heavyweight silver medalist at the 1985 Contra Costa Games compiling a very impressive 88 wins & 6 losses including victories over former world middleweight champion; Michael Nunn and world ranked contenders; David Tua, Bomani Parker, Samson Po'uha (Pou'ha), Tarmo Uusivirta and Karama Leota. Ingram's experience in boxing also includes
an appearence on NBC (ch. 11) now defunct international amateur boxing/sports series; USA Versus The World and on several local sport segments on the spanish language; Univision and Telemundo televison networks working with many known entities in the game including: Former world champions and Hall of Fame boxing legends Archie Moore, Roberto Duran, Wilfred Benitez, Carlos De Leon, Big John Tate, Reggie Johnson, James Page, Loreto Garza, Randall Yonker, Bert Lee, Grover Robinson, Monte Masters, Irish Pat Lawlor, Joaquin "killer" Gallardo and George Foreman's Hall of Fame Trainer; Dick Saddler having been involved in boxing and the entertainment industry for most of his life and coming from a family of singers and entertainers (Luther Ingram ("If loving you is wrong (I don't want to be right"), Bobby Purify (" I�m your puppet") and Poopa T. (Antonio D. Lewis). Prior to embarking on his career in boxing Ingram who was already very much musically and culturally inclined, began singing afro - world jazz, soul, blues and reggae from music teachers; Chris James and Xavier Gardner of Curtis Mayfield's Curtom Records R&B singing group; The Natural Four ("Can this be real") at San Mateo, California's Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center and also while at William F. Turnbull Jr. High at the age of 12. Since, retiring from his 15 year career in boxing in 1991, Ingram used all of his boxing "business" knowledge learned over those 15+ years to pursue and accomplish his dream of becoming the world's premiere promoter in entertainment, with his first show in 1985, a boxing show held at The Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center. A successful venture that involved; Isiah "Pete" Alvarado Jr. and now renowned boxing cutman: Jacob "Stitch" Duran as co-executive producers and co-promoters. the event featured Live amateur boxing and drew a crowd of 1000+ in attendance. It was that particular show that convinced Ingram to continue and further his success in this, his new found field of promotions. NOTE: (This was also the debut of Jacob "Stitch" Duran's career in "showbiz" and big-time world-class boxing). Calling on all of his knowledge and resources acquired in the boxing business, Ingram also began to incorperate promoting local professional and amateur musicians including himself with promotions of his first love; singing and writing songs. Today Ingram is widely known as "jazzamuffin" roots reggae- dancehall artist; "Oonka Symeon" who in recent years have gone on to become one of the more popular roots reggae and dancehall-hip hop artists on the west coast. Mr. Ingram also had a brief stint in civics and journalism and was appointed school representative to the San Francisco Unified Schools District Board, writing speeches and addressing the school board and other large assemblies receiving a " Youth in Business Day" award in 1978 from the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, speaking at The Alcoa Aluminum Corperation in 1979 completing a scale model drafting and blueprint internship program at San Francisco based architectual firm; Skidmore, Owens and Merrill. He also attended The University of California's Far West Laboratories School of Broadcasting (San Francisco) later that year, Completing an extensive media communications internship program at the then newly formed KTSF TV Ch.26, acquired the skill of carpenter and other construction trades through The City of Oakland's Jubilee West - Center Street Victorian renovation project from 1983-84 with his biggest claim to fame in that industry; painting The Lemington Building a historic structure located at Franklin and 18th Street in downtown Oakland in 1994. visit The Lemington today, it's existing paint-job is Mr. Ingram's work. in recent times however, Ingram is not as active in the construction trade as in the past spending most of his time in the Oakland-Berkeley communities assisting battered women, drug abused and homeless/displaced family programs along with his involvement in the music industry and has since spearheaded many television, radio and video programming and productions for several bay area private, community and independent television, radio stations, private entities and personalities in the San Francisco - Oakland bay area Mr. Ingram also majored in business, music and performing arts while attending Delta College in Stockton and at El Camino College in Los Angeles, He managed and maintained several small businesses and retail storefronts that he owned from 1989 to the present. a uniquely outstanding vocalist guided by his mother Lora D.
